Coronavirus
Message to Public

Dear Desert Imaging Family,

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) begins to have an increased impact on communities, Desert Imaging feels it is important to connect with you to share how we are taking steps to maintain a clean, safe environment at all Desert Imaging locations, and what you can do to help.

Our top priority is always the safety and well-being of our patients and team members. We are committed to providing the safest possible environment, and that includes taking the necessary steps to help prevent the spread of illness.

Staying informed and vigilant

Our Senior Leadership Team has been monitoring the Centers for Disease Control, the Texas Departments of Health and Human Services, and the World Health Organization daily to ensure we are kept well informed on prevention measures and prepared for the potential impacts of the virus.

Covid-19 Risk Mitigation Protocols

In compliance with the City of El Paso's COVID-19 directive, everyone is required to wear a face mask prior to entering any of our imaging centers. Upon arrival to our clinics, we check each patient's temperature using a touch-less thermometer and we ask our patients to remain in their vehicles until it is time to proceed into the exam room. Within our clinics, we have installed Plexiglass sneeze/cough guards at the front desk, lobby chairs have been reduced and spaced at least 6-feet apart, and all staff are using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including surgical masks, disposable gloves, and eye protection. We have increased our cleaning and sanitizing protocols to a minimum of three times per day. In addition, staff frequently sanitize high-touch surfaces throughout the day including door handles, counter tops, and furniture. Hand sanitizing stations are installed in the lobby of each imaging center for patient/visitor use. Additional signage is posted on all clinic entrance door to educate visitors on the importance of germ management such as effective hand washing and sneezing/coughing strategies. The products used to clean common spaces and surfaces at our locations are effective in preventing the spread of viruses, including COVID-19.

Prescreening Questionnaire

As an enhanced safety precaution, we are asking all our patients & visitors at the time of exam scheduling and upon arrival to our clinics the following CDC-approved questions:

1. Have you recently traveled to an area with known local spread of COVID-19?

2. Have you come into close contact (within 6 feet) with someone who has a laboratory confirmed COVID – 19 diagnosis in the past 14 days?

3. Do you have a fever (greater than 100.4 F or 38.0 C) OR symptoms of lower respiratory illness such as cough, shortness of breath, or difficulty breathing?

If the answer is yes to any of the above questions, we will ask the patient/visitor to reschedule the exam to a later time when symptoms have subsided, or they have been assessed by a qualified healthcare professional.

Stay home if you are feeling unwell

If you are feeling unwell, simply call us at (915) 577-0100 and we will be happy to reschedule your exam for a later time when you are feeling well.
